As a John L. Scott broker, my mission is transactional excellence and client satisfaction. That means I work tirelessly to make your home buying or selling process as efficient, stress-free and lucrative for you as possible.

Meet Kimberly

Kimberly Shaeffer is a real estate broker for John L. Scott’s Seattle Northeast office, located near the University of Washington. Prior to joining John L. Scott, Kimberly worked for one of the largest retail companies in the U.S., and also owned her own clothing boutique in Boston. Her experience runs the gamut of sales, marketing, business development, and buying and negotiating with large retailers and international brands.

A northeast native, Kimberly was born in Maine and grew up as a second generation realtor. In 2011, Kimberly relocated to the northwest and began investing in real estate; soon after, she began to pursue her real estate license. Her love for the area, home design, architecture and appreciation for mid-century homes, has made Seattle the perfect fit for Kimberly and her family.

Coming from a real estate family, Kimberly has seen and been part of hundreds of transactions in different parts of the U.S. Additionally, she has personal experience with cross-country moves and the stress involved with having a short timeframe to find a home and not feeling equipped with knowledge about the neighborhood she’s moving to. With this in mind, Kimberly’s goal is to be her clients’ rock and hyper-local partner in the home buying or selling process.

Kimberly works with all clientele, including first-time home buyers, relocating individuals and families, new construction builders and buyers, and people looking to buy personal homes, investment properties and luxury properties. Focusing on the Puget Sound region, Kimberly studies and researches local neighbors, schools and community groups to match her clients with the best properties and locations for their lifestyle. Additionally, she works on many home renovation and restoration projects, so if a client needs help fixing up their home prior to market or needs help renovating a home they just bought, Kimberly is able to connect clients to the right people for the job.

Helping her clients have a smooth and successful transaction is Kimberly’s goal. She uses her knowledge in negotiating, marketing and technology to ensure her clients have the best experience and all the tools needed for their real estate process. With her attention to detail and openness, she provides her clients with the support system needed when making a major real estate decision.

Whether it’s on the buying or selling side of the transaction, Kimberly has a passion to innovate and pioneer new ideas. Amazing staging and high-quality photos are a must for Kimberly – she wants homes she is listing to look like a magazine shoot. She also reaches out to local blogs, magazines, social media influencers and newspapers to help spread the word about her listings – her clients’ homes have been featured on Curbed.com, nytimes.com and even have been printed in the New York Times.

Outside of real estate, Kimberly is involved in her community and local co-op groups. She currently serves as the Seattle Parks and Rec Liaison / Co-op Committee Liaison for Victory Heights Cooperative Preschool. Additionally, she has a fondness for design, photography, antique cars and motorcycles, and exploring with her husband, little girl London and dog Beans. She loves spending time with friends, family, clients and meeting new people.

Seattle

Seattle is a fantastic city for a lot of reasons, but one of the best things about it is the natural beauty that surrounds us. Nothing beats a crystal clear day when you can see the Olympic Mountains and Mount Rainier. But even on rainy days which, yes, we do have a few of here, the views of Puget Sound and Lake Washington are breathtaking. Seattle has a rainy reputation, but our best kept secret is how spectacular our summers are. While a lot of the country is sweltering with heat and humidity, we're basking in the perfect warm days and our long summer days allow us to enjoy water sports, hiking and cycling and tending to our gardens. In the winter, skiing and snowboarding are only an hour away. People recognize Seattle by the Space Needle and Pike Place Market, but we also have a thriving arts and cultural scene, great art museums, symphony, opera, and ballet.

Reviews

“I have worked with a number of brokers in the past and immediately like Kimberly’s style when selling a property this past year. What sets her apart from the rest of the field is her ability to communicate very clearly any expectations and deliverables with both style and personality. One thing that stood out, when staging the property to sell she printed out property highlights and placed them throughout the property; she also took the time to bring a vase of flowers in next to the property brochures, and the next week was chocolates – she even included a printout of the floorplan. Want a drone? Kimberly can arrange it via her very professional photographer who did a great job. From A-Z I got everything I needed with Kimberly, even some post sale follow ups. I would highly recommend her, she’s truly one of the best around and we are lucky to have her in our ring.”

"Kimberly has been a trusted member of our business. She not only helped clinch a deal on the Shoreline home, she provided clear vision during remodeling process while keeping the original touches in place so we could update it into a Mid-century modern stunner. We have found her to be extremely quick, detail-oriented with clear communication style which sets her apart in this crazy Seattle market. She is very knowledgeable about various areas and gives invaluable insights. While keeping her clients needs in mind, she takes ownership of any situation and will go over and beyond to proactively take care of anything to bring a deal to closure! We love having her in our team!"

“Working with Kim to find the perfect home for our family couldn’t have gone more smoothly. What could have been a stressful and disappointing experience, ended up being just the opposite. Kim helped us get the exact home that we wanted for a price we could afford. She’s as knowledgeable, professional, and as personable as they come. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a new home.”

“Thank you Kimberly for selling my brother's home in Seattle! He has tried to sell it multiple times before with no success getting it all the way to closing. You were professional, attentive to details and most of all empathized with a sensitive situation. You rock!"

“Thanks for taking such good care of Randy & Carolyn throughout the whole selling process! Leaving the Northwest is a very major move for Randy and your professionalism and thoughtfulness has made the transition much easier for them both. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to send business your way in the near future.”

“The Seattle real estate market is quite complex and very competitive, and unfortunately as a result, a lot of times discouraging. I certainly felt the full spectrum of emotions as I prepared to both sell my place, and at the same time seek out the elusive new home in a very strong seller's market. Kim was my Sherpa as I trekked up the home buying mountain - her experience, market knowledge, and creative vision really helped to manage my expectations while keeping me positive throughout the entire process. She helped me understand the value of each home, the potential of what it could be, and without that vision, I wouldn't have found the incredible house I'm now living in - which I love. Thanks Kim!"
